Sampled 4/29/2011 at the brewery.
Pours hazy dark orange, some soft white head on top, not much in the way of lacing or retention.
Aroma is spicy banana with a good amount of malt in the background. Interesting, more like a dunkelweizen with some rye in it rather than the traditional lighter colored/bodied roggen.
Flavor is rye and banana with some black pepper and bread with a hefty dose of caramel.
Body is medium and quite enjoyable even if it's not totally to style.
