June 2013: 330 ml green bottle, kindly shared by abemorsten. ABV is 4.8%. Deep golden colour, decent white head. Aroma of maize and over-cooked vegetables. Bland flavour, some malts and maize, minimal hops. Not undrinkable though.

The African equivalent of American light beer it would seem.
Bottle poured into a table glass. Pours a light yellow with a white foamy head that rapidly recedes. The nose is sweet malt, and the palate is dominated by saccharine corn malt. Strikingly reminiscent of Miller light. The mouthfeel is thin and underwhelming. Overall, an unexciting, cheap adjunct lager.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden color lager with a small bubbly white head with minimal retention and not much lacing. Aroma of adjunct and slightly oversweet corn notes. Taste is also dominated by corn notes with too much sweetness. Body is somewhat fuller then most pale lager with an oily texture. Bland with too much adjunct for my own taste.

330 mL green bottle poured into a hotel glass.
A: Dark, banana shade of yellow with a short-lived white head.
S: Heavy industrial cereal smell with malt and alcohol discernable. Pretty skunky.
T: Fairly mild and somewhat smooth. Mostly malt/corn with a little hop flavor. Not much bitterness.
M: Smooth with a touch less carbonation that usual for the style. Goes down pretty easily.
Nothing to get excited about, but not a bad version of the style and I would rank it above its primary competition - Tusker Malt Lager.
