My go to place for craft beer in Cleveland. I travel an hour out of my way to visit this place every other week. The staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommend. Lots of great local stuff.

While visiting my father in law about 15 minutes away, I visited this place, ultimately twice, because of the reviews I read here. I am glad I did and I feel compelled to write my own.

This is not a huge store and a good portion is dedicated to wine and various tobacco products. What is present in the world of craft beer is interesting, plentiful and quite varied given the limited space, and compared to what I am used to, priced very well.

I went in on the day after Christmas to the sounds of some very religious Christmas music. The employee behind the counter greeted me right away and asked about my holiday. I asked about his and he chuckled that he was "recovering". Over the course of the time I was there and other people came in and out, the guy greeted himself twice more and apologized for doing so, referring once again to his previous day's exploits. I mention all this because despite the generic appearance, this particular employee, who was the only person there on both my visits, was very engaging and spirited, and that definitely improved the overall vibe of the place.

Things were definitely a bit picked-over because of the holidays, but there were still lots of goodies organized mostly in rows dedicated to domestic, import, Belgians, regional?, and finally, Ohio. Along the three walls are refrigerators with a few items not on the shelves, but not many.

There is also a growler station, and here management has decided to display new and interesting beers (Otra Vez) and beers behind the counter. Two of these at the time were Gumballhead and YumYumYum. Given that I cannot get and have never had 3 Floyd's, I enquired as the availability of these items to which the gentleman replied excitedly that he had some behind the counter. Worried, I asked about price and he said he could only part with two of each, but singles are priced in proportion the price of the 6ers, so these were 2.18 each. Ecstatic, he then asked if I had ever heard of Zombie Dust, and when I replied in the affirmative, he wondered whether I would like one bottle of that, same price. More points for this dude and his place. After grabbing some Clown Shoes bombers and a bunch of singles of beers I cannot get in MD, including a bunch brewed in Ohio, I headed to the counter. After telling the dude I was there because of reviews I read on BA and that the place lived up to the hype, he continued to that me profusely. When total rang up, he ran off behind the counter and brought back a Unibroue glass for me. I stopped by once more before heading back home and will make this a regular stop whenever visiting the area.

You can tell by the photo this place ain't all fancy and pretentious. The guy in line in front of me was getting a 30-pack of Miller Lite and the woman behind me a box of wine. Meanwhile, I got a six-pack of Anti-Hero, something from The Bruery and a bottle of KBS -- all at almost half the price of my usual craft beer shops in Pennsylvania. Plenty of friendly banter initiated from the guy behind the counter, too. Would stop here all the time if I lived anywhere close.

The best use of an old Dunkin Donuts location EVER!

Doesn't look like much, but what a great store. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. They are willing to let you browse or will walk around pointing out all the gems. Hell, they even carry your cases (yah, I bought a lot) out to the case for you. An incredible selection on the growler filling station as well (Bodhi, DirtWolf, Breakfast Stout, Hop JuJu, Speedway!). If you spend a few minutes shopping and talking with the staff to prove you aren't a D-Bag, you will most likely be rewarded....that's all I'm sayin' ;).

Stopped in due to the great ratings on here while driving through Ohio over the summer. We arrived about 5 minutes after opening time on a Sunday morning only to find the store looking closed.... luckily for us it wasn't. The owner was inside, opened the door and turned the lights on. He was very welcoming and had many suggestions of what brews were new and good. Very helpful.

The selection enormous. It seemed like most of the stuff was laid out in singles but six/four packs of mostly everything could be found. Lots of singles both in the cooler and out on the shelves, of which there are many. This was certainly my sort of store where you could look around and seemingly find hidden treasures at every corner. I am sure he would have told me where anything was but I kind of find it to be part of the fun looking around myself at first. Left with four mixed-six packs of brews from OH, MI (ton of Bells) to CA (which I can't get some of in MA). Honestly probably one of the best selections I have seen in ANY beer store around the country. Didn't seem overly dusty but also didn't seem like they moved things as fast as the best of them. Plenty of US craft as well as Belgian and foreign bottles as well. Prices were much better than what I am used to paying in MA, save-on indeed. Anyone with a selection of singles around them like this is very lucky.

Good stuff, Wally will only take care oif you on the rare ones if he feels like. Which is about 50% of the time. James has grown on me but is still a bit 'out there' Amazing selection of singles, most of which are cold.

HAD to stop in while running around over the holidays. Blown away by the selection of craft beers available. This is the type of place where you honestly don't know what to get because there is so much available. Best part of it is, is the staff are readily available to make recommendations. Prices are what the are and appear to be at state minimum judging by my "normal" purchases. If you want a beer that exists in Ohio, you are very likely to find it here. Recommend getting your favorite then build a six pack of related beers that you will find here...you may end up with a new favorite.

I stopped by this shop because I was in Cleveland on business. Wow, the place is just what it says. Its a beer, wine, and smoke shop. Catering to all the vices. The coolers lining two walls were a bit bare, but the shelves were fully stocked. All arranged by style so it was easy to locate any thing you wanted. They also have taps to fill growlers. The guy working there was very knowledgeable of styles and breweries. This is a must stop if you are in the Greater Cleveland area.

While in Mentor/Eastlake on business, I was told my the locals that if I liked beer, that I simply had to go to this store. Coming from the East coast, I was very happy to see a number of beers that I couldn't get elsewhere.

I also saw a number of beers that I've searched for in vain. This is not a giant mega-store, but a fairly small store packed with great craft beer. So, they don't have everything, but they have plenty of hard-to-find items.

The two best parts are the exceptional service and the tasting bar. They have a certain portion of the day where you can pay a small fee and try a few special beers on draft or by bottle. I really appreciated the knowledge of the staff, but especially the gratitude and kindness of this "Mom and Son" shop.

If for no other reason, it is worth visiting them for the warm reception.

Fabulous place.

I was in Cleveland this weekend and had staked out this place from the reviews on BA. It is unassuming from the outside but once you step in the store you know you are in the right place.

I wanted to pick up some local beer and had a few in mind. Wally was super helpful helping me find and pick out the best local stuff. Wally even made sure the Fat Heads Headhunter was from the batch that just came in that day. He wanted me to have the freshest batch for my first time tasting this beer.

I saw in another review that they carried Three Floyds, when they can keep it in stock. I have never had any of their stuff since I can't get it in Boston. So of course I asked if they had any. When I told him I that I had never tried any TF Wally took an Alpha King out of his personal stash. He even apologized that he didn't have any Zombie Dust, his favorite.

In the end I ended up getting almost two cases, which Wally and one of his guys brought out to my car. Selection, Service and just downright friendliness was A+. I would highly recommend. I'll be back. I don't know when but I will be back.

Very, very friendly service.
The best selection in northeast ohio for beer.
You can pick individual beer bottles with no upcharge.
All prices are perfectly reasonable.
Always excellent beers on tap.
Just a great atmosphere, well organized, and clean store.
I drive over an hour to get to this store because of all these things.

A truly wonderful little shop with tremendous selection. The proprietors of this establishment are knowledgable, friendly, and eager to accommodate any requests. Another good quality is the amount of product that moves through the store ensuring its freshness. If you've not visited the store yet please do.

I drive two hours from Pittsburgh to visit this incredible store. It's one of the few places that carries Three Floyds. I called last week before I drove out on Saturday to see if they had any Three Floyds in stock, and unfortunately they were out. My wife and I still drove out there, just so I could show her the amazing selection. After we bought a dozen bottles of beer not available in the archaic state of Pennsylvania, the very nice young man behind the counter brought my purchase out to my car and we spoke about Three Floyds and how hard it was to find. I was going to leave my name and number for when they received their next shipment of Three Floyds when the young man offered to sell me a bottle that he was saving for himself. I was quite overwhelmed at his generosity and will make this a stop every time I am in Pittsburgh. In addition to the fantastic service and choices of beer, the store has a decent selection of wine and also carries 5-6 different brands of mead , which I have a hard time finding. The store is clean, well lit, and all of the personnel are friendly. Overall, a great experience.

They have a sign that says they have 3000 beers for sale in the front window. When you walk in you are a believer. Just about every beer in the store is available in singles. All marked down to the appropriate price. If there isn't a date on the bottle and the style isn't suitable for aging and you aren't sure it wasn't recently released I would skip it. I would skip that bottle in any store though. The owners are very inviting and usually let us sample some beer while we are in. Anyone who gets a chance to check this store out should.

This place is great. Every town needs one of these. Probably the best selection of craft beer I have ever seen. Great hard to get stuff on tap for growler fills. Knowledgable, helpful, patient (I needed that) staff. I really needed the patience to make up my mind.

This is a really great place. The employees were very friendly and helpful; they had a very good selection; and their prices were very reasonable. And they have a growler station! There aren't a ton of "very rare" beers, but they have a very large selection of things worth trying.

Wow, I'm very glad I checked out the reviews on this place. I am driving through Ohio and always like to get some beer I cant get at home when I am on the road. Turned out this was a mile from my hotel so I had to check it out. I drove by it the first time, and was definitely doubtful when I saw the outside. Once I got inside though, I knew my wallet would be much lighter when I left. Incredible selection, great customer service. Easily one of the best beer shops I have ever had the pleasure of shopping in. Always nice to get some white rajah and head hunter when you live in Missouri!

Don't let the outside fool ya, because I can't say enough good things about this place and remember what your mom always said, "It's whats on the inside that counts"! Great customer service, great variety and very reasonable. The only complaint is that it's not closer to me. Thankfully got friends that live 10 minutes away so when we visit them, the boys head out to Save-on. Can't wait for our next visit to Mentor.

This was a trip a year in the making. I found out about this store a year ago and finally took the hour long drive to check it out.

The gentleman working the counter was super nice. He suggested some good beers that I had tried already so I stuck to making 6pks of random stuff I never see around me. A lot of single 12oz and a good amount in the coolers as well.

The man working even helped me out selling me a single Great Lakes Blackout Stout saying he would take the other three home since they were just offering six packs.

Nothing too crazy in terms of rares but the selection is unmatched and I would have maybe half the choices if you went to the surrounding beer stores closer to me.

Worth the trip and was a blast to hang out in the store for a while.

Picked up an Avery Czar 2012 and some Jubilation Ale for the cellar!

Stopped in here with a friend after reading the reviews on here to buy some single bottles to sample. Can't believe this is in my backyard and didn't know it was here. Staff was as friendly as one could hope for in any establishment. Selection was great with a nice mix of cold singles in the cooler as well as warm bottles on the shelves. Mostly domestic brewers with a good selection of imports. We will be back many times over to buy beers. Single bottles prices were best I have seen in any store that sells them.

Might be the best beer store I've ever been to. I'm not sure if the dude and woman working the counter own the place or just work there the only time I've been there, but they were seriously awesome. Helped me spend more money than I really wanted to spend, but I don't care. I would love to sit back and drink half of his stock with the guy. The girl was relatively hot too :p
Anyway, atmosphere is great because of the two aforementioned people. The quality is damn good. Service is superb, as stated previously as well. Selection is amazing. The only gripe is that I wish they had Three Floyds in stock. Outside of that, nothing to complain about.

This joint is just great. first, the woman who usually works there is extremely friendly and she helped me out no problem when I went there my first time. she also lets me know when a good beer is about to come in or if the store has any specials.

Second, the beer selection is second to none IMO. this place prides itself on a very wide selection from national brews from across the US. also has an extensive selection of foreign imports and even has a section dedicated to brews from our own State and local brews.

the mix your own sixpack is a godsend for people who just want to try an assload of different beers such as myself.

DO NOT LET THE OUTER APPEARANCE FOOL YOU! it does look like a reprehensible building (it used to be a 7-Eleven),but inside is homely and inviting. do yourself a favor and come to this place if your in the neighborhood.

Oh yea, they have domestics too
