Known as Cinq Cents in 0.75l bottles.

The Chimay Triple, which is the brewery’s most recent creation. It is golden in colour, and succeeds remarkably in blending mellowness and bitterness.

Chimay Triple dates back to 1966. But it was launched in 0.75l bottles for the 500th anniversary of the principality of Chimay in 1986. This is why it is also known under the name of "Cinq Cents" (meaning 500) in 0.75l bottles.

Beautiful gold colored beer, lightly cloudy, clouds of bubbles billow into a three finger pillow that takes its time relaxing to hefty cap that leaves tears of lace along the glass. 4.5

Lightly tart funk aromas, white grape, white pepper, neutral sweet, a bit of sourdough, a bit of pear cider, I get in the 100 sniffs it takes me to begin describing here. It is a light/medium strenth aroma, but it is perfume. 4.5

Medium strength taste, quite a bit more blended than the aroma suggested. I do get all the aromas now as flavors, but they are balanced and blended wonderfully, deliciously. Nice bit of herbal drying joins spice and sweet to cleanly end the sip. 4.5

Light in the mouth, despite the amount of flavors present, low carb. despite the plume of head, and a finish that is clean as clean gets. If I had to ding this, it would be a bit too thin for style, but for this beer, the mouth is a frame that showcases the flavors wonderfully. 4

Damn, this might turn me into a tripel lover, this is very very good, highest recommendation!!! 4.5

The last of my Christmas box set of Chimay beers. Slightly hazy, light copper color with a foamy white head. Aroma is light but clean with what seems like a bit of saline air. The flavor is elegant with rich maltiness, light peaches, hay, vanilla, and toasted almonds. The body is very creamy and smooth with a dry finish. Some dry, yeasty bitterness in the upper part of the mouth to balance the honey and caramel sweetness. Finishes dry and lightly sweet with residual hay and nuts. Wow, this is just an excellent Belgian beer and one I look forward to trying again.

Brewers description

Known as Cinq Cents in 0.75l bottles.

The Chimay Triple, which is the brewery’s most recent creation. It is golden in colour, and succeeds remarkably in blending mellowness and bitterness.

Chimay Triple dates back to 1966. But it was launched in 0.75l bottles for the 500th anniversary of the principality of Chimay in 1986. This is why it is also known under the name of "Cinq Cents" (meaning 500) in 0.75l bottles.

Chilled bottle bought at super u in Saint Martin , poured into a dof glass produces a translucent orange yellow liquid with a solid one finger of white shaving cream , great retention

Aroma is spicy, coriander

Taste is yeasty, spiciness, coriander, tangerine citrus

Sudsy mouthfeel with a dry quenching finish

Good beer

Hazy muddled orange with a creamy, thin, off-white cap. Thick sheets of lacing. Big banana and light pear and pepper in the nose. Similar tasting. Surprisingly clean finish, very light cardboard, vanilla and banana linger. Medium to full bodied with tight carbonation. Not bad, but not to the level of some other Belgian tripels.

Rich 2-3 fingers white head with excellent retention.
Amber-golden, cloudy beer, medium carbonation, micro bubles.
Smell, breakfast pancakes, little cellar fungus, slightly floral notes
Taste, sweet floral notes at first, than citrus tanginess kicks in and after that hoppy bitterness.
Drink with small sips.
Lovely mouth feel.
The aftertaste is a little bit too rough on the edges for me to give this an honest top score.
But a very good triple and with 8% abv not too heavy.

This paired excellently with a traditional Thanksgiving Turkey dinner. Beautiful pour, lots of frothy cream colored head. Slight haze to the golden orange body. Excellent head retention with some nice lacing. Bottle art is simple but elegant.

Tropical fruity notes of pineapple, overripe banana, pear and white peach, coconut, caramel and cognac. A metallic copper note comes across on the finish.

Fruit forward on the palate as well, with lots of overripe pear and peach, followed by banana and coconut, backed up with a roasty malty bitterness, akin to dark rye bread.

The metallic note comes across to the mouth at the finish here as well, but a touch more subtly. It also keeps the finish fairly dry. Medium-full bodied.

I've had this many times, and I'm so glad it's still affordable in this crazy beer market.
