Knowle Spring is a full-bodied blonde beer brewed with Golden Promise barley malt, Strisselspalt hops from Alsace, and UK-grown Minstrel, Cascade and Chinook hops. It’s an easy-drinking beer with floral and grapefruit aromas, spiced orange on the tongue followed by aromatic citrus hop flavours to finish.

Poured from a 500ml bottle.

Pours golden straw with a decent white head and a swirling tornado of carbonation filling the glass. The smell is lightly of hops and lemon and the taste is full. Grass, hops and a citric tang throughout with a nice bitterness towards the end . Highly carbonated and full bodied this beer is very nice , full sparkling full of flavour and has a body at the 'heavier' end for the style which suits it well.

From cask in Robin Hood's Bay. Absolutely gorgeous, golden, clear, appearance. Smells and tastes like a delicious light blonde ale, perfect on a rare hot and sunny English day. Mouthfeel is incredibly smooth and creamy, like most cask ales. Overall one of the best ales I had in England from one of the best breweries to ever do it.

From cask at Town Hall Tavern in Leeds. Finally, all the TT ales! The promised land. Another outstanding ale. I had a hunch when I first drank Landlord that this would be my favorite English brewer and so far that has been an accurate hunch. Beautiful color. I can see why this is classified as an EPA, because it’s certainly hoppy enough, but it’s described as a Blonde, which is also accurate. Fragrant, dank nose complemented by the stellar malt bill that’s almost sugary sweet, in a good way. Cake frosting is what I first thought of, oddly enough, but not in a cloying way. An absolute joy to drink. What a brewery!

500 ml bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 4.2%. Blonde / pale straw colour, moderate white head. Fresh aroma of citrus fruits and flowers, hints of honey. Citric and refreshing flavour, a hint of honey again, but not too sweet. Moderate herbal hops in the finish. A nice beer, particularly for the spring and summer months.

On cask at Bishops Arms in Malmö.

Pours a fairly clear light amber with fine, soapy head.

Smell is floral and crackery with notes of citrus, green tea and peach with nice fruitiness.

Taste is floral, fruity and crackery with soft bitterness. Notes of peach, green tea, citrus and shortbread.

Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.

Overall, a superb blonde, so easy to drink but flavorful.

500ml bottle.
L: Clear, golden with several streams of bubbles and a thick, creamy head that leaves sheets of lacing.
S: Faintly malty.
T: Semi-sweet light malt, some honeysuckle and a hint of citrus. Bitterness is moderate.
F: Medium body with some stickiness and a dry-ish finish.
O: An ordinary, albeit pretty, English golden ale. Good on a hot day in a pub beer garden with friends and almost certainly better on cask.

*I first drank this beer indoors on a cool, grey summer evening. It was just about ok (3.00 overall). I had a second bottle, just a week later, outdoors on a blistering hot & sunny afternoon . It was much better.
