From a half liter aluminum can, this beer is a black liquid with a slim tan head. The aroma has a roasted grain note. There is a little bread and dark chocolate scent as well. Balanced taste with some malt and chocolate flavors. Medium in body. Okay.

16oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left little to no lacing on the glass. It smelled of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Sweet chocolate with toffee and some bitter coffee notes.

$1.79 @ Total Wine & More, Claymont, DE
Notes via stream of consciousness: The beer appears black in the full glass but if you hold it to the light you can see that it's a clear dark brown. The head is a thumb's width of tan foam. In the nose I'm finding sweetish dark malts that suggest cocoa, Russian black bread, molasses, caramel, and a touch of roastiness. The flavor delivers those same notes along with some additional graininess, a medin bitterness, and some lightly herbal and spicy hop notes. In the mouth it's medium-bodied on the lower end, and gently crisp with a fine-bubbled carbonation. Unfortunately the head dropped rather quickly, particularly for a German beer, and the lacing is quite limited. I think it's very nicely put together with a very nice balance and good roundness of flavors but it could probably be brewed a little bit better.

Crimson rimmed cola colored body with a large (initially) beige head and spotty lacing. Notes of caramel in the sweet malty aroma. Earthy, roasted malt taste sharing the spotlight with bittersweet chocolate. Hops finally contributing before things are wrapped up. Medium bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel that lingers.

Very dark brown with ruby highlights and a moderate tan head that retreats to just a ring fairly quickly but continues to produce bits of nice lacing.
The aroma is toasted brown bread, a hint of caramel.
The taste is mild, burnt toast, coffee and caramel with a vague spiciness in the finish, overall mildly bitter and a bit dry.
The body is light/medium, well carbonated and velvety smooth. Altogether this is a mild but pleasant example of the style, very drinkable and enjoyable.

For the price, this is a pretty good Dark Lager.
It's not world class by any means, but it's definitely worth the money.
It's nice to see another German dark beer offering.
It's easy drinking, smooth and non off putting in any way. Just lacking a little character.
Great company beer if you don't want to spend a fortune on the costlier options.

16oz can into a pint glass. Appears to have been canned 9/2/20, so a year old
Looks okay in the glass. Very dark brown body. Initial big foamy tan head shrinks to a ring and faint covering. Not much lacing.
Pretty neutral aroma, a little roasted malt.
On tasting, quite mild, lightly roasted malt, the barest hint of smoke.
Mouth struggles to get to medium, finish a fleeting roast.
Overall, very easy drinking. Not unpleasant in any way, just seems to lack the bite of a good schwarzbier.

Pours dark brown cola colored. Two fingers rocky tan head.
Aroma is toasted bread and toffee. Not getting much else.
Slightly sweet toasty bread malt finishes dry with a little hop bitterness.
Light bodied and well carbonated.
Pretty tasty and refreshing session beer.

Best before 10/24/2021 - poured from a tall-boy can into my Ayinger Celebrator pokal.
Clear caput mortuum body supports a thin wheat head. Fine lacing, faint tears, average retention.
Brown bread, faint toast, and a hint of ceylon tea in the nose.
Sweet, malty palate entry. Mild grassy/grainy bitterness. Dry, vaguely metallic finish.
Light bodied, moderately carbonated, with low ABV.
Easy drinking, albeit somewhat mediocre overall.
