473 ml can served cold into a snifter. LCBO purchase for around $3.25 CDN. Can't tell the canning date.
Appearance - clear, rich golden brew with nearly two fingers of dense white head. Reasonably good retention, lots of bubbles and the slightest bit of haze.
Smell - Clean and fairly sweet. Some caramel and suggestions of vanilla with some broad based grainy aromas lurking in the background.
Taste - Very light in flavor, a generally sweet bready flavor with just a touch of caramel. Pinch of pepper in there somewhere adds complexity. Certainly not too sweet nor too bitter although lacking in intensity.
Mouthfeel - Medium-light bodied, with lots of light crisp carbonation. Turns out gassy but pairs well with the light flavors.
Overall - A better than expected blonde ale from a brewery that has disappointed me a couple times before. North of 41 is light, sufficiently flavorful and a no-frills attached type of light ale that is a nice easy quaff on a summer patio and is a nice reminder not to take this all so seriously.

Pours a clear gold colour with a medium sized head atop. The smell is grainy with a hint of lemon. The taste is very good for a blonde ale. Usually pretty bland bit this one seems fruity and a bit more hoppy than usual. Quite nice actually.

473 mL can from the LCBO; coded B12 1 (Feb 12 2021) and served slightly chilled.
Pours bright and effervescent, its golden yellow-hued body crowned with more than an inch of fluffy, foamy white head that recedes down to a lumpy, half-inch cap that lasts for quite some time. An even coat of beautiful lacing is also left behind - let me just say, this is a gorgeous beer. Its aromas of peaches, graininess, citrus and tropical fruit are subdued yet enticing.
A respectable blonde - fruitier than average, with light hints of apricot, apple, orange and melon accompanying its grainy, slightly bready pale malt backbone. Finishes with gritty grain husk and a touch of very mildly grassy, pithy hop bitterness, with a grainy aftertaste that quickly fades to off-dry. Light in body, with middling carbonation levels that supply a little bit of spritz to this blonde ale's mouthfeel; fantastic drinkability.
Final Grade: 3.75, eking out a B+. I don't really expect a whole lot out of a blonde ale, which might have something to do with why I was so pleasantly surprised by North of 41°. The underlying blonde is fine, but it's the Citra hops that do the job of sprucing the whole thing up, resulting in a fruity, refreshing quaff that would work splendidly as a lighter spring/summer thirst quencher. I liked this more than I was expecting to, and while I wouldn't say it's anything to write home about, it may just be Hop City's most sessionable offering to date.
