Clear dark gold color with an abundant foam in the Avec les Bons Voeux chlalice. Very light body with a crisp and sharp mouthfeel. Aroma of corn, straw, and something flowery. In the nose it's got some bark and mowed hay.
Bitter right away with a piney hop taste. Quite resiny. I'd say it tastes more like that spicy rye bitterness than oats. More bitter than is pleasant to drink, especially in such a light beer. And such a dark taste with the woody finish. From the 12 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham.
