LOOKS: A slightly hazy dark gold, or light amber, with a finger+ of white soapy head. Nice bit of lacing down the glass.
AROMA: Lightly toasted caramel malt. A nice hoppy citrus vibe. Mild tropical notes.
TASTE: Nice balance between malt and hops. Bitterness hangs on a bit but is quite mild. Mostly citrus notes of lemon and grapefruit.
FEEL; Medium light body, but not watery. Medium dry, average carbonation.
OA: I think it's better than the previous reviews. The added 'hazy' to the can, so maybe they upped the hop profile a bit. This would go great with some chicken or shrimp street tacos.

Hazy variant of this beer. Clayton got cans from grocery store, shared in AirBnB the night before Nolan's wedding. Piney, bitter, lacks fruit.

This is one of those beers that just is. Not bad. Not distinguishable from the competition. It just is good enough to make it in the expanding craft market.
A nice pale that approaches an amber ale, but the foam/lace is sub-par... so I give it average Looks.
Aromas are common, too; malt and some hops. The hops become strong in the Taste; although others may appreciate the quantity more than me. But, Desert Dog is refreshing; despite the interplay of malt and hops losing to the hops. It sits in the mouth of a thirsty man like an average soup does of a man hungry for lunch.
While Sleepy Dog developed in an Arizona college town, they now have a brewer (I presume via contract) in Warrenville Illinois. (I picked this can up as part of a build-your-6-pack at Binny's Lincoln Park.) Enlisting Warrenville might be a smart tactic to deal with the Illinois ABC and its notorious hoops that have to be jumped through (being a sleepy dog is no camouflage.) So, my question becomes: who is the contract brewer ? I only know of one in the small suburb of Warrenville with excess capacity (Two Brothers.) Is this a new experiment in distribution deals and collaborations beyond one brew ?
