L: Semi clear ruby pinkish red. Nice finger of very slightly pink head. Great lacing.

A: Sweet macerated cherries with oak. Some berry notes. Some dusty funk. Slight tartness.

T: Tart cherry upfront so much cherry but not in a fake way. Perfect balance of sweet and tart from the cherry. Nice bit of oaky barrel funk. Also some vinegar at the end.

F: A nice non carbed juice type feel. Coats your mouth with a film of cherry.

A: crystal clear; garnet in color; a 1 finger fizzy light tan head that receded quickly to nothing; no lacing;

S: a little funk balanced by subtle tart cherry;

T: up front, it’s funk with some tart cherry; in the middle, the two are perfectly balanced; there’s also a bit of plum and black cherry present; the finish is all tart cherry;

M: medium bodied; light to moderate carbonation - a little prickly; moderately dry finish;

O: when those flavors are balanced, it’s just about perfect; surprised that I didn’t get more from the oak;

Look: Deep clear ruby red with a high eggshell head that has great retention.
Smell: Fine. Pure cherry juice.
Taste: A flavor explosion of both tart and sweet cherries with an ever-so faint touch of malty alcohol.
Feel: Masterful. High in the mouth and highly carbonated with soft, smooth gentle bubbles.
Overall: A top notch brew for the ages that I wholeheartedly recommend trying.

Silkeborg 21/7 2020. 33 cl bottle from Føtex, Torvet, Silkeborg. Red foil, shiny label with small cherries.

Pours clear mahogany with a strong red hue. Big off-white head. Settles as thin layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass.

Aroma is intense with a strong sour odor mingling with sweet cherries. Austere sourness with hints of vinegar. Sugar and cherries. A bit candy-like.

Strong carbonation. Thin, oily, lively - almost fizzy - texture.

Flavor is fairly intense with a strong sweetness followed and balanced by a slightly more moderate sourness. Aftertaste is sweet with a lighter sour undercurrent. Finish is cherry sweet.

Fairly well balanced with a distinct cherry sweetness and a slightly more subdued sourness.

Pours a dark reddish brown with a 1/2F head and light lacing.

Smells of cherries and red wine.

Tastes of tart cherries and slightly vinegary red wine with a lightly bitter finish.

Medium light body with light, prickly carbonation.

This is a very flavorful, complex and balanced brew.

The beer has a lightly hazed, dirty copper appearance with a swarm of tiny carbonation racing within. The body is opaque dark copper with a thin, light chestnut head that ranges from fine to rocky. The head collapses to a thin fog, leaving a ring of medium bubbles against the wall of a goblet.

The aroma leans more sour than towards vinegar. Sweet cherries lead the fruitiness and pop with a strong whiff. Light notes of red wine peek out occasionally, while warmth brings mild oak.

WOW! The cherries are quite strong and of the maraschino variety. Sweetness and tartness oscillate between the two extremes. Mild bitterness is relegated to the background. Red currants and strawberries come out with warmth, while the oak remains mild. The finish is long and tart with a fruit punch flavor.

The texture is silky smooth with a medium body. Alcohol is as expected. Carbonation is ample and soft.

This is a very pleasant beer, even on a cold and dreary Memorial Day weekend. I will attempt a cheese pairing with the next bottle. Overall it has a refined and sophisticated quality.

330 ml bottle, dated "JD 11 1.182" which I'm not sure what means.

pours a slightly cloudy dark pink color, with a light pink colored head. pretty good head retention. wonderful sour cherry aroma. taste is similar, has a nice depth to the flavor - starts sweet but then the sour comes in the finish. short finish. not crazy sour, it's easy to drink. nice smooth mouthfeel
