Rodenbach Vintage is a unique, unblended Flanders Red-Brown ale beer that is matured in oak casks for 2 years. Only the best casks are used, after which I subject the beer to a strict sampling selection. Rodenbach Vintage has a uniquely balanced acidic taste and a long, fresh and fruity aftertaste. Honoured with several gold awards.

Poured a 750ml caged and corked bottle into a tulip. A thin bubbly tan head on a clear reddish brown. The head disappears almost immediately. No lacing.
Vinous smells. Wood and leather to a lesser degree. Some fruit, leaning towards cherry.
A base of red wine with some fermented fruit but so well melded that individual flavours are hard to pick apart. A smooth and mildly sour finish.
Light body and carbonation.
Very smooth and complex. Sweet/sour balance is right on. A top Flemish Red. Smoother and more completly melded than most of the other Vintage series.
