Just opened another of my collection of 2008 on 5 March 2023 and it is aging remarkably. Poured with nice carbonation that quickly dissipated. Lighter shade of claret. Incredible nose with balsamic undertones and rich jam. Highly, highly quaffable. Well-balanced and bordering on absurd in drinkability. Rounded edges over time. Smooth. Rich jam with tartness and malt backbone.

750 ml bottle, best before 8/9/2013. Poured into a Chimay goblet.

Appearance: Pours a dark red/brown color with less than a finger of a tan head that settles to a thin ring. Body is clear with lively visible carbonation.

Smell: Lots of oak and vinegar with sour cherry, green apple, leather.

Taste: Oak, sour cherry, red berry, leather, apple, mild funk and maybe some red grape. Sourness is on the lower end of medium with a mild balancing sweetness.

Mouthfeel: Light/medium bodied with a somewhat soft mouthfeel and light/medium carbonation.

Overall: So complex and well balanced. One of the most under appreciated beers out there.
