A 750ml corked and caged bottle, 2018 vintage, bottle no. 1193, with a best before date of 15th August 2028. Poured into a Tilquin stemmed glass.

Appearance: A very nice hazy golden colour with a two finger white head that had decent retention, but left only sparse lacing.

Aroma: Tart, apricot, stone of the stone fruit, rhubarb, green apple, floral, with light oaky and funky notes.

Taste: Lightly sour, tart, apricot, sour stone fruit gummy candy, rhubarb, floral, and a touch of lemon.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall: One of my favourites from De Cam. The aroma and flavours just work well for my palate, and it was just so refreshing and easy to drink.

2018 cap.

Bright gold with tons of racing champagne streamers, huge billowing head that's so voluptuous it looks more like a cartoon. Well-carbed would be an understatement.

Aroma is more subdued, though there's some dried apricot and minerality present. Rhubarb seems about gone at this point, zero sulfur though, which I prefer.

Coarse, rapid carbonation renders this lambic more like seltzer, and only towards the end of the bottle after swirling a few times does it tame down ever so slightly. Light to medium bodied with a manageable puckering tartness. Seems to be fully attenuated and therefore very dry.

Apricot surfaces, more like the dried fruit with a general fruity essence. Some tannic oak traces in the aftertaste, and minimally funky. The high carb level gives an impression of mineral water. Overall it's good, though no comparison to Fou Foune. I'd have to revisit this fresh to be sure.

750ml bottle, nr 1578, poured into a stemless wine glass. Enjoyed on 5.31.19, reviewed from Tasting Journal.

The beer pours a hazy golden color, straw hues with a fizzy white head that rises about finger tall with no real retention or lacing. The aroma is nice, lots of funk, soft apricot and tangy rhubarb with other bright pitted stone fruits, toasted noyaux, oak and soft pale grains. The flavors echo the nose nicely, lots stone fruits, apricots, nectarines, cherry with some sharper rhubarb, pale grain and lots of nice funk that offers some earthiness and brings out a nice oaky character. The mouthfeel is good, very lively with a lighter medium body that is coating with a very dry and tart finish.

Verdict: A nice fruited lambic from De Cam. The rhubarb and apricot compliment each other so nicely and yet remain distinctive in their own ways. A very nice lambic.

2018 bottle. Big pop, a little bit of a gusher. White head. Pale straw yellow color.

Rhubarb dominates this one. Leafy greens and sulfur. Apricot is harder to find but it’s there. Light tart. Dry and well carbonated. This one has an herbal/spice note to it. Straw/dried grass.

Pretty solid. Could go for more Apricot and less carbonation.
