2022 Bottle.
A bit of a gusher, resulting in a hazy orange pour, mildly murky. The nose is lovely, soft, ripe peaches, fragrant, sweet and reserved acid. Mild lemon acidity. The palate is soft with lovely stone fruit. Initially a little brisk and prickly, but once the carbonation dies down, this turns quite lovely and lush. Harmonious blend of fruit. Mild vanilla like notes. Quite excellent.

2022 cap
Bright golden hue with racing champagne streamers, a finger of foam that builds when poured and settles out quickly. A thin ring of skim, no lacing. Clouds up on the second pour, but with all the pulpy fruit one can’t complain.
Juicy ripe peach aromas, mild oak and wild barrel funk in the periphery. Big and natural peach flavors, succulent stonefruit, juicy and vibrant.
Medium bodied with spritzy carb and moderate acidity. Lighter side of sour, definitely puckering.
Great apertif, it cranks the salivary glands into overdrive.

A 750ml corked and caged bottle, 2022 vintage, with a best before date of July 2032. Poured into a Tilquin stemmed glass.
Appearance: A hazy golden orange colour, with a one finger white head that had good retention and left nice lacing. The bottle itself, when opened, turned out to be a slow gusher, and definitely persistent.
Aroma: Peach, peach sour gummy candy, rose apple, apple peel, lemon juice, with a touch of damp wood.
Taste: Sour, tart, slightly underripe fruit, peach, apricot, apple peel, wood, lemon juice, and an acidic lemon pulp like finish which was a little harsh.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate to high carbonation.
Overall: Loved the aroma, and the flavours were nicely peach forward. Perhaps the acidic lemon pulpy finish which was a little harsh on the throat was a concern, but I’m hoping it will mellow out a bit over time.
