Brewed to pay homage to local, Hispanic flavors that we love, we give you our ale take on a champurrado, or Mexican hot chocolate. Brewed with organic cacao powder, cinnamon, allspice and pasilla chilies.

Poured a deep brown with some reddish tint and a one-finger off-white head. It looks like a good American Stout, not much more to say. Scents of chocolate, dark fruit, cinnamon and sweet spices. A very interesting aroma, combining some typical stout aromas with a very Mesoamerican cacao aroma. Unique, enticing and well done. Flavor begins with rich cocoa and hints of roasted malt, moving into flavors of dark chocolate, dark fruit and cinnamon. The finish has hot notes of alcohol and the continuing cocoa and roast malt flavors. Aftertaste is cocoa, alcohol and roast malt. A very good flavor profile, hot, cocoa-rich, spicy and quite unique. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, lightly carbonated, smooth and slightly drying, with a faint burn. Very good for a sipping beer, with a nice body and carbonation level. Overall this is an interesting stout, that added some good flavors to the mash that worked to make a good, rich, chocolate-rich flavor profile and aroma. Quite nice.
