Poured a gorgeous cloudy yellow with a one-finger, fluffy white head that stuck around and left abundant lacing down the glass. It looked like a truly excellent witbier or hefeweizen, quite gorgeous really. Scents of cloves, banana, indistinct sweet spices, bready malt and a slight band-aid off aroma. Overall the aroma is quite good, very similar to a hefeweizen or witbier in character. The slight off undertone does not detract in a large way from that. Flavor begins with yeasty bread and spicy clove flavors moving into a nice citrus peel and floral hop bitterness. The finish is more bitter still with some yeasty bread, wheat cracker and clove spice. Aftertaste is bitter hops, spicy cloves and grainy malt. A good white IPA that goes more towards the witbier side of flavors with abundant spiciness, yeastiness, wheat bread and cracker graininess but enough hop character to set it apart from a witbier. Mouthfeel is light bodied with moderate carbonation and a drying feel. Quite nice and easy to drink. Overall this is a good White IPA. It hits the witbier side of aroma and flavor perfectly while adding a nice hit of hop bitterness.
