Poured a gorgeous, rich black body with a one finger tan head that slowly receded. A very nice looking beer and true to style. Scents of rich roast malt, black coffee, rich dark chocolate, black coffee, cocoa powder and roast malt. Overall impression is of a good, balanced porter aroma, that is a bit robust. Quite. nice. Flavor begins with notes of rich dark chocolate, black coffee and roast malt. Middle opens up more flavors of rich dark coffee and cocoa. Finish is medium-dry with notes of alcohol, coffee, and chocolate. Aftertaste is alcohol, cocoa, black coffee and cocoa powder. Overall impression is of a good stout or porter. Quite nice. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a smooth, slightly chalky feel. Very nice and true to style. Overall this is a good light stout or strong porter that has a nice aroma and flavor profile and a complementary mouthfeel. Quite good and strongly recommended.
