The new beer is inspired by the Belgian beer type Saison, which is traditionally brewed in the early spring and served over the summer as a real thirst quencher.
Den Gamle By version has an alcoholic strength of 7%. It is fermented with a special Belgian yeast and brewed on light malt types. The malt of the museum gives a touch of smoky taste, which perfectly matches the sweetness of the cane sugar.
Round-handed quantities of German and American hops provide a fresh, almost floral bitterness. The beer is unfiltered and has a beautiful golden colour.

Aarhus 26/7 2020. 60 cl bottle in Den Gamle By. Drawing of what looks like a steam engine on the label.
Pours quite unclear, golden yellow with a medium-sized white head. Settles as thin, layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense, fresh fruity and citric. Citrus, coriander. Oranges and lemonade. White sugar. Hints of smoke.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, watery, Soft, smooth lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger citric sourness. Aftertaste is citric and bitter. Lingers for a bit. Semi-dry finish.
Fresh Saison although a tad too sweet.
