1 litre green glass bottle with plastic screw-top acquired in a Picadilly supermarket in Sofia, Bulgaria, and served into a Staropramen pilsner glass in me friend's gaff in Sofia. Reviewed live. Expectations are average.
Served cold. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.
No bubble show forms as it's poured.
HEAD: One finger wide head of white colour. Okay thickness and creaminess. Average retention - about 2 minutes. Leaves no lacing as it recedes.
BODY: Cloudy yellow of average vibrance. Clean; no yeast particulate or hop sediment is visible.
Appears decently carbonated. Not unique or special. Looks pretty basic for a radler. I can't say I'm looking forward to it.
AROMA: Heavy lemon and lemon zest, clean barley, clean barley, and some twang. A pleasant aroma of moderate strength.
No yeast character, alcohol, off-notes, or spices are detectable.
TASTE: Clean barley, lemon zest, some citrusy twang, and generic light malts. Not particularly well balanced, but it's decent. Built decently for a radler.
Average depth, duration, and intensity of flavour. Okay complexity. Not real subtle, intricate, or nuanced.
I do like it for what it is, but in fairness it's pretty unremarkable.
TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, slightly overcarbonated, clean, refreshing, and crisp.
OVERALL: Drinkable and enjoyable, but ultimately underwhelming. It's nice for a radler, but I wouldn't get it again. A decent summer beverage.
