Legendary Ames College football player, John "Jack" Trice, selflessly broke down barriers and paved the way for a better future. On Oct. 6, 1923, he made the ultimate sacrifice. While honoring his race, family and self, he solidified his legacy forever.
With shared values in authenticity and community, 1st Down Brewing and Peace Tree embarked on a journey to commemorate Jack through beer. What culminated is a classic red corn ale with notes of caramel and a smooth, malty finish.
A portion of sales goes to the Trice Legacy Foundation, furthering its impact in helping Black students succeed, and helping to build a culture of doing better.
Join us in honoring Jack. Cheers to a LEGEND.

12oz undated can poured into a pint glass shows a cloudy ruddy amber colored body and briefly floats a 1/4" cap of cream colored foam that falls to a wispy cloud and edge ring.
Aroma and flavor is corn led, bordering on buttery.
Feel is lighter medium that clears the palate cleanly.
Overall, I support the purpose over the result.
