A - Slightly hazed straw gold color. Minimal creamy white head. Little lace left behind.
S - Funky barnyard aroma is quite strong. Tart and sour apple are the strongest aroma but there is also a strong hay aroma. Minimal sweet malty/corn aroma. Hints of oaky aroma.
T - Similar to the nose. Tart and very slightly sour green apple are strongest. A definite funky barnyard flavor comes out. Touches of citrus and lemon rind along with some grassiness. Faintest hints of oak/woody flavors and sweet corn flavors. Not really like the base Cornicopia at all.
M - Lighter body with good carbonation. Very dry and crisp finish.
D - Fairly drinkable as a balanced sour beer. Dry and crisp that is somewhat like a cider. Could drink another but probably not more.
Notes: A little heavy on the tart/sour fruitiness. Nice hints of oak. A good introduction to sours. Nothing really like the base beer but there are a few times that those flavors peek out subtly. Overall a decent beer but nothing overly special.

Pours very hazy with a very pale yellow color. The aroma is nicely funky with a little bit of chlorine and a good bit of earthiness. There is some pleasant fresh cut hay and fruitiness in the bouquet as well. The flavor of the beer is enjoyable all together with a fair amount of tartness, earthiness, and mild leather. The odd-ish flavor that the sweet corn stalks add to Cornucopia is by all means not lost at all in this version and add a nice layer to the beer. The fruitiness is very pronounced but well balanced by an overall dry character of the beer so much so that the finish reminds me a bit of brut. Very nice beer, I look forward to more offerings like this one from Peace Tree.

Had on-tap at the Peace Tree Tap Takeover at Short's Burgers & Shine in Iowa City (7.1.11)
A - Pours a pale crystal-clear yellow with slight copper highlights. Little-to-no head. No lacing on the glass either.
S - Green apple aroma with only a slight spicy malt character creeping through. This ale was brewed with brettanomyces as well as traditional belgian yeast so the green apple sourness is expected.
T - Slightly puckering sour apple up front. Light cornbread and grainy sweetness barely eeks through. Bizzarely, the most prominent and definitive taste I get out of this sour ale is that of green apple gumballs. Interesting, but not off-putting. Some very mild woody, vanilla-like notes are present also.
M - Light body. Good, vibrant carbonation that interacts well with the sour quality of this beer. Clean, dry finish.
