Purchased at Ambacht's stand at the Beaverton Saturday Market in 22 oz. bottle. Poured a two-finger head, very carbonated even after sitting in the glass for a few minutes. Reddish-brown in colour, smell is predominantly of caramel, dark roasted malt, and coffee. Taste is mostly of the malt, but there's also an undertone of dark fruit; possibly cherries and plum. It feels very heavy on the tongue and mouth, and I would venture to guess that's because of the high level of carbonation. Overall, it's a drinkable beer, as long as it's paired with a meal. The dark farmhouse ale is, as I understand it, a bit of an experimental variety of beer, and that is very evident from Ambacht, a "97% organic" brewing company. The jury is still out on whether I will try a dark farmhouse ale again.
