described by the brewery as a hoppy roggenbier
a: served in a tall logo glass, super cloudy, completely opaque (lots of rye might do that, or a weizen yeast?), honey golden color, white head with nice retention
s: a slew of lighter malts and rye (recall being told that the rye portion was quite high - maybe 50 percent of the bill), clean bready/biscuity aromas, smells a bit sweet, some yeasty character, plenty of rye on the nose but surprisingly smooth, love the citrusy hops - some orange peel coming through
m: body around medium with a nice fullness, carbonation moderate and lively
t: tastes bready and moderately sweet with flavors of both rye and a balance of lighter malts, the rye flavor gives some spice but - as in the aroma - is quite smooth, cleanly yeasty, perhaps just a touch of toasted grain, dig the hoppy approach to this rye - the orange/citrus flavors are great, finishes cleanly with a nice hop finish
o: I quite liked this one, an interesting take on the roggenbeer style, lots of lighter malt flavors with a very healthy dose of rye, and the citrusy hops make for a refreshing drink
