This was a promotional gift from my hotel in Lyon. I probably wouldn't buy it; but I'm tempted to try their other wares and go into one of their 25 restaurants. Their website portrays them as diversified fun (spirits and entertainment), but I'd like to have an English button so I can cut thru the hype to see if they are that good.
Ambree has huge head, albeit it was on the warm side (which don't bother me.) Smells are slightly above average, mostly malt. Tastes are balanced until mid-palate and then at the finish they take over in too powerful a way for me. Barely medium-mouthed.
FYI... The famous Oregon micro is named after Ninkasi, the Metzopotamia godess of brewing. I'm gong to presume the Lyon Ninkasi also is so inspired.

Nutty, with just a hint of caramel. No sweetness. Very little citrus. Just a bitter hop bite, and a dry finish that invites another sip. Sudsy head. High carbonation.

Amber colored and nearly clear. Moderate and lasting head. Webby lace on the glass.
The smell is mostly toasted malt. I get some yeast and a touch of smoke.
The malt start is very dry. There’s a citrusy flavor to the hop bitterness, almost like orange rind. Some yeast bite. The body is typical for the style; the carbonation is slightly low. The finish is straight up bitter. Long aftertaste.

L - Bubbly orange with a white head That doesn't last
S - Floral notes and caramel
T - Follow the smell with a tea-like bitterness. A bit dull
F - Above average carbonation
O - An average pale ale. Better as it warms up
