Appearance: Served a near clear, amber-copper body with a white, lightly frothed head.

Smell: An aroma smelling moderately of toasted bread with sweetish tones of light caramel and light brown sugar. A bit of underlying earthiness.

Taste: A taste of toast and brown sugar as well as caramel, with a bit of associating sweetness. Earthy, spicy, herbaceous hop profile with a medium level of bitterness. Small touches of everyday raisin, maybe even apricot. Drying, with a cumulative bitterness on the back half and finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: A basic, no-frills ESB, but it pairs well enough with the frog legs.

Poured a nice hazy golden amber, with about a one inch head gracing the top. Very quick head fade that left behind nothing more then a thin soapy like glaze across the top. Some slight carbonation bubbles were visible.

Spicey with a slight candy like back to it. It definatly came off sweeter then I thought it would. Lots of light fruit but mostly alot of spice in the back here. Almost a pumpkin liek aroma to it. The taste was really quite nice, and I have to echo a fellow BA, this is my favorite from them by far. Light crisp flacvor with a good amount of spice in it and a decent hop profile to finish. Very complex flavor, cinamon, nutmeg, a ton of little spices dancing around in there, very well put together. Super smooth and crisp. Great feel. Lots of carbonation and silky smooth. Flavor really pops and it is a very easy drinker. Very nice, you dont even feel the 6.6%. For a winter beer it was very drinkable in the summer for sure. I could easily put down a few of these with no effort what so ever.

Overall this was an excellent beer. I really enjoyed the flavor profile and the the great finish.

Of all of the beers I have had here, this was by far my least favorite. This is not really even an ESB in my book, but the brewer listed it as an ESB so I must assume that is the style he was targeting.

Not much in the way of the creamy, maltiness with a touch of English hops that are typically found in the style. This was almost Red Lager type in its consistency and lack of any substance. Watery, minimal aroma. Flavor was very lackluster. So far away from ESB. I wouldnt have this one again.
