Pours slightly hazy and gold colour. The head is so large and frothy, I have to wait several minutes before I can even taste the beer. Kinda like a milkshake. The smell is bitter, Belgian-like with hints of fieldberries. The taste (finally) is your typical Unibroue taste with some fruity/berry notes. So far, this is one of my favourite brews from Unibroue

Bottle: Poured a clear golden color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet Belgian malt notes with light notes of sea buckthorn is enjoyable. Taste is also a mix of sweet Belgian style malt notes with some sea buckthorn syrup notes and a sweet finish with light yeast notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Enjoyable Belgian blonde but not sure I really enjoyed the fake syrupy sea buckthorn notes.

Typical beer of that brewery with that spicy, juicy Belgian yeast flavor. A variation of that same recipe that works every time. A lot similar to their other fruity beers. Nice! but I am still waiting for a great IPA from them.

750 ml cork and cage bottle. Served cold into a chalice. LCBO purchase for $7.95 CDN.

Appearance - Hazy orange/gold color with two fingers of long lived white head. Great retention and plenty of loose spidery lacing sticking to the edges of the glass.

Smell - Initially mineral water with some stone fruit like aspect and hints of something close to grape. Never having experienced a sea buckthorn berry I guess this is what it smells like.

Taste - Fruity, light, somewhat sweet. Kind of a melding of nectarine, pear with hints of sweet grape in there. Delicious stuff. The signature Unibroue yeast shows as well.

Mouthfeel - Well carbonated, but light body, easy drinking and very enjoyable.

Overall - Honestly, this is one of the best beers I've tried in 2020. Usually I love Unibroue, but hit the Ephemere series with mixed reviews, but well the Sea Buckthorn Berry variant is pretty incredible. Well worth a try even for the reatively steep cost.
