From notes taken while up north

Appearance: Two fingers of head with ok retention and a little bit of lacing. Body has a slight red/brown hue on the cloudy dark blonde that shows ample carbonation.

Smell: Raspberry dominates the nose, with wheat grain behind it giving it a slight earth note and maybe the barest touches of lemon and orange. Potency is good out the gate.

Taste: Starts with grain and mild raspberry that starts to competing with an orange citrus note before it slips out to find a slight touch of coriander to end things.

Mouthfeel: The carbonation helps out the entire beer, and the aftertaste is mild orange and a touch of coriander, but the transitioning conflict in the middle of the beer leaves something to be desired.

Drinkability: Light body, and it settles down exceptionally well. A refreshing drinker that is for sure, but that conflict at the start kind of ruins the vibe a bit here.

Final Thoughts: I'm not sure why many seem to want to fruit their wheat beer. In Unibroue's case, it's even weirder since their Éphémère series seems to fill that niche better then this did. It's different, and not as good as standard Blanche, but it's still solid. I don't know, I never had the Framboise Éphémère so maybe this was the better medium for fruiting.
