nice beer, they should have done something with this, a cool hop loral, works great in this context, and while i think this could be both a shade more liberally hopped and also a tad less malty, despite it not being heavy, i think its real solid, super drinkable, a lot lighter overall than their classic pils, in part because there is nothing here at all from the yeast, its identifiable as a lager because of its crispness and fast finish and texture, but not really because of any yeast taste. the hop has a lightly noble thing, not spicy but that grassy character, herbal to me but not like tea, more like lemon thyme and maybe honeysuckle or something, clover, and pretty bitter, not just at the end but starting about midway through it, some bite, some neat subtle white grape and white grapefruit both, dried grass, light melon, and it warms up great too, uncommon for the style. there is a lightly toasted thing to this and just a bit of grain weight but the carbonation is better than it looks and its still a real easy drinker, low alcohol for lagunitas i feel like too. sorry this one was just a flash in the pan, i think they could have made a go of it with this one in the everyday craft lager space with a couple of minor tweaks...
