This was a 75% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot barrel blend of saison. Pours yellow, hazy, with 1/6" white head down to a very thin film shortly after the pour. Also this first appeared on my radar at the Bistro 2010 West Coast Barrel Aged festival.
They represent they added brettanomyces and kept the ibu's to 30 to keep the souring to a minimal level. It worked. This displayed more of the wine character than it did anything sour. Was barely tart, just dropped way more brett and rustic earth meets wine barrel levity than anything else. Could have used more carbonation. The french oak (it seems) barrels have the heaviest influence taste wise for the beer. The brett and wine barrels did help contribute to this beer going even drier.
Honestly think that if it was actually a little more sour, it would be for the better, there is plenty of room in this beer for that aspect to be yet another layer in a decent beer.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
