Pours a lovely golden straw with a thick and pillowy head that lingers, leaving great lacing behind.
Smell is wonderfully bright and grassy with some lemon zest and herbal notes, a lightly bready fullness fills out an absolutely enchanting aroma. Smells like a day spent on a sunny beach.
Taste follows the aroma with the light breadiness taking a bit more prominent role but still of lemon peel and fresh cut grass.
Mouthfeel is excellent, super sessionable. The bready body up front is cut short with a nice sharp clean citrus bite. Every sip seems to preordain the next.
Overall, I've had this beer dozens of times over the years but this summer it finally clicked for me. It's so incredibly drinkable. It's nothing wild, nothing bombastic, just a clean beautiful arrangement of flavors that play nicely together delivered in a crisp and crushable package.

This is a simple, light bitter that has a light, clean bready maltiness just supporting a light, zesty lemony-peppery-grassy bitterness that just dominates. It's very good but not great and the bitterness, though not strong, tends to dominate a bit too much because of the light maltiness and yet there is not a lot of hop character. It has light minerally quality. Redwood should try do a cask of this since English-style bitter is always better cask conditioned. However, it is a good, enjoyable beer with just enough character to keep it going. It is a deep, bright gold with a large off-white head slowly shrinking to thin lasting top and some nice lace. Feel is good, light but not watery.
