Brewed in collaboration with Afterthought Brewing Co.
Our side of a home & home saison collaboration with @afterthoughtbrewing and boy is it tasting nice! It features a hop currently known as HBC #1019 that’s generating more excitement than any other hop we’ve come across in years, leading to us sponsoring an acre. It’s got this juicy peach flavor without anything else distracting from it.

I think I probably called this my second-favorite beer of 2022 in one of the year-end wrapup threads. It is truly delightful and we need more.

Had on tap. Clear darker gold body with a huge white head and visible carbonation, crowned lacing. Grass, garden variety herbal notes from the hop bitters meet that expressive yeast, with light grains, big lemon, lime zest, faint banana and a dollop of peach completing the smell. Taste is anchored on the yeast and hops with a hint of sour yet big lemon, lime zest, candied apricot, citrus zest, light ester and faint cantaloupe, some farmhouse funk lingers. Dries out through the sip, otherwise a medium-light body with considerable carbonation, graininess and a light sour kiss.

Canned 8/5/22; drank 8/26/22 @ the Yarchives.
See-through pale orange/yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice, noisy white head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.
Banana, clove & fresh flower notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Clove & mild lemon flavors up front; mild caramel & faint fresh flower notes on the finish.
Pleasant but with substantial flavor; I enjoyed this!

Lightly foggy burnt gold with a thick puffy foam head that retains well.
Mild yet bitter brett meets hints of floral lavender and herbal grassiness via a fluffy medium to full body that finishes lightly semi-dry, exhaling some faintly toasty nutmeg qualities.
I was expecting more considering the collaborative effort, but it's a bit too close to yeastier styles like wit or hefe.

On draft at brewery 8/15/22.
Cracked open a can 8/30/22 for a formal review.
16oz tall boy can with canned on date 8/5/22. Saison poured into Durobar Charente glass.
Appearance: Pale Golden yellow bodied beer with bone white head. Moderately aggressive pour results in a big and fluffy head that is three fingers tall. The head has good staying power, but surprisingly leaves only scant lacing on the glass.
Smell: Light aroma of "green" and floral hops. Wet hay / straw malt profile. Not much in the aroma department for yeast aromas; maybe some light fruitiness, but that could also be from the hops...
Taste: Light malt sweetness (almost a corn in a mexican lager type of flavor) with more pronounced wet hay / straw notes. I really dig this malt profile in a Saison, it tastes pretty rustic & I have always enjoyed a rustic Saison. Hint of banana, fruity esters & a hint of white pepper. Herbal hops with hints of earth and obvious juicy peach fruitiness in the finish that lingers for a long time.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied saison. Moderate carbonation levels. Soft bodied Saison with creamy carbonation. Drinks very easily. Clean finish all the way.
Overall: This is Rustic saison with a clean finish. The texture of this Saison is equally impressive. No surprise of the results when Afterthought & Revolution Collaborate on a beer. Way better than I expected it to be and I am a Saison snob. Happy to admit it.
