Poured from 500mL can into a wine glass. Best by 4/19/23.
Appearance: rich red hue with a tiny bit of haze and a finger of frothy pink foam that leaves a nice lace on the glass as it dissipates. I know there is natural coloring added to this, but I don't care; it's pretty!
Smell: very sweet and candylike and cough-drop-ey. I mean, I love a good cherry candy beer, but I think this has gone a little bit past the sweet spot.
Taste: lots of cherry flavor, but also a lot of sweetness. There's some tartness to balance this out, but little in the way of malt. I would say this beer is more of a candy treat than a beer; I love cherry candy treats, so that's OK for me, but if you are looking for a "beer" you might not find it here.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent level of carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: I love cherry beers, but this is just a bit too much, and too sweet. After finishing about half the can, I couldn't really drink any more. It's tasty, but just too much candy.
