A collaboration with our friends at Pinthouse Pizza Brewhouse in Austin, TX. The name reflects the combination of our flagship IPAs, their Electric Jellyfish with our Union Jack IPA. Electric Union is shockingly good.

Solid 8 out of 10! You get hints of both beers, neither takes over, and no one thing stand out too much (no so much a pro) but married together with.

Type: 10-oz. draft
Glass: 10-oz. clear tulip-like glass
From: The Common Table in Frisco, Texas
Price: $4
Purchased: Dec. 15, 2018
Consumed: Dec. 15, 2018
Reviewed as: American IPA
Misc.: Collaboration between Firestone and Pinthouse Pizza; Quick review
First beer of many at The Common Table, which was near where I was staying (The Omni) on a recent work trip in Frisco, Texas. Went with the 10-oz. option for the majority of my reviews. This was labeled as, “A collaboration with our friends at Pinthouse Pizza Brewhouse in Austin, TX. The name reflects the combination of our flagship IPAs, their Electric Jellyfish with our Union Jack IPA. Electric Union is shockingly good.” Had never had Electric Jellyfish before, but had plenty of Union Jack. Was hoping for good things from this one.
Was dark in the restaurant, but appeared to be a golden clear color with two fingers of off-white frothy head. Could see some slow moving bubbles coming up on the sides of the glass. World-class spiderweb lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled pine, citrus zest, pineapple, Simcoe, spoiled grapefruit and caramel malt. Got worse as it went down after the initial smell. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted better than the nose. Got Cascade, pine, dank resin, Simcoe, pineapple, bitter grapefruit rind, citrus zest and light peach. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Clean, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
This beer grew on me overall. Just an outstanding IPA. (Overall - 4.00)

On-draught @ Pinthouse Burnet. 6.3% ABV.
Cool and refreshing, but a bit lacking in terms of hop pungency. I dig the hop profile and it's well-balanced bitterness wise. Crisp and approachable.
I'd sooner take regular Electric Jellyfish; Union Jack is dragging this hybrid down. A solid brew regardless.
