Pours a cloudy pale straw with a rocky white head.
Aroma is eucalyptus, mint, Band-Aid, peaches, banana, white pepper, and a touch of floral, noble hop character.
Flavor is similar to a hefeweizen, with a strong spicy banana bread thing going on. White pepper and hints of peach as well. Finishes very dry. Lots of nice and spicy Brett character. Nice touch of noble hop floral character. Refreshing.
Mouthfeel is a quite thick but with very high carbonation. It's chewy. Alcohol is noticeable, but doesn't detract from the beer. I would prefer a slightly thinner body, but the carb level is perfect.
Overall, a pleasant and refreshing beer. A very approachable farmhouse beer. Highly recommended for your boomer dad that isn't into craft beer, but enjoys a nice hefeweizen.

stillwater does a lot of things now, but they used to do mostly saison types, and they were all good, all of them. i liked this beer, and its apparent that its very well made from a technical standpoint, but it really doesnt add a lot to their catalog for me, like they make far more interesting and notable brews in this style, this is pretty bare bones as they go, and seemingly basic for stillwater, well done as it is. its uniformly hazy, a shade deeper than straw yellow but still quite pale, and with a tall white head that fades pretty fast. it immediately smells and tastes like 3711 french saison yeast, a common workhorse strain used by a million breweries for their clean farmhouse types, nothing funky or rustic about this at all, and everything about it is familiar, not because i know stillwater beers so well, but because literally everyone uses this yeast or something just like it. i do enjoy the wheaty base, a bit of earthy rawness to it giving this some character beyond the yeast, but the fermentation profile is just unexciting to me, i wanted more from it. white pepper and lemon sharpness combine nicely, and there is so much carbonation here, its really active. it seems to concentrate a sort of citrus intensity at the front of my tongue on the swallow each time i take a pull, herbal and peppery too, good, but too familiar to be exciting. well made beer, but ive come to expect a little more from these guys...

Look: Hazy yellow with some suds on top.
Smell: Lemon and hay, like in a barn. Some sweetness.
Taste: Like wheat and sugar. Maybe a little orange pith.
Feel: Well carbonated, light mouthfeel.
Overall: A tasty beer, a good farmhouse ale.

A: The beer is hazy golden yellow in color - a little too hazy to see if there is visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high white head that died down but consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of Belgian yeast are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of Belgian yeast along with underlying hints of grainy malts.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and very dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is a classic farmhouse ale that has nice aromas/flavors of Belgian yeast and a dry mouthfeel. It makes for a good summer beer.

16oz can. Poured out a slightly cloudy, golden color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled fruity, phenolic and sweet with caramel. Funky tasting with fruit and toasted caramel.

Friday night virtual tasting beer 1 - poured from a can (no date I could find) into a small plastic taster
L: light yellow gold, slightly turbid, rich thick white head. Standard farmhouse appearance
S: great farmhouse nose here. Black pepper, citrus zest, get some banana/clove as well. More of what I think of as a classic Belgian saison aroma, very nice
T: follows the nose, nice and peppery with some herbal and flour/dough notes. That banana/clove note comes through here as well, not something I've found recently in US farmhouse ales. Crisp and refreshing
F: medium carbonation, medium body, easy drinking as expected
O: great Belgian farmhouse, very well balanced, delivers on both the nose and palate
