On tap at Max's.
The beer pours a honey amber color with good head retention and lacing. The nose showcases light ice tea and hint of vanilla... not getting a whole lot else. The flavor profile replicates the nose, but has a bit more of a hoppy bitter character, which I like. I think the oak aging has tamed considerably the normal amont of hoppy bitterness I get in this beer. Also, while the flavor profile is attractive, it really tales off on the finish, and the beer has at most a light to medium bodied profile. The beer is smooth and somewhat prickly on the finish, with just a hint of sour and light bitterness.
A decent beer, but no better than that I'm afraid. Think I prefer the regular version of this beer.

on cask tonight at the sneak peak cask-only showing of stillwater/mikkeller collaboration "Our Side" (or Gypsy Juice). Big, juicy, piney, citric, earthy hop character backed by toasty/peppery spicy with vanilla and wood intermingling seamlessly. mouthfeel is much fuller, and sweetness is accentuated. awesome!!

From Baltimore Sun article: "collaborative gypsy ale, is a mix of Stillwater Artisanal Ales' Stateside Saison and Mikkeller Stateside IPA."
Max's (Baltimore) on release day.
A - pours light copper, opaque, thin white fluffy head
S - light earthy and oak aroma
T - piney hop notes, slight spiced flavors, excellent oak notes, light vanilla
M - very fine carb feel, creamy lightly coating the mouth
D - Quite easy to drink. No alcohol hints to be found.
This version I found to be far superior to the non-oaked version (http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/22150/65050).
Brian is really on to something here. Cheers to more fine brews and excellent collaborations.
