750 ml bottle at Akkurat, bottled 7/5 2002, poured into a gueuze glass.

A- Pours a hazy golden orange color, topped with a fizzy inch of white head that recedes to a collar, leaves some spotty lacing.

S- Lots of hay, dry, musty funk, as it warms up some earthiness comes out as well. Lemon citrusiness is pretty prominent. There's also hints of grass and a bit of honey. A lot of the aroma reminds me of my favorite-smelling 3F beers like Lente and 50th Anniversary.

T- Quite acidic, lots of lactic with some acetic also, with a nice dry, musty, hay-like funk as well as some lemon. Finishes with lingering lemon acidity and dry, oaky must.

M- Medium-bodied, has moderate to high carbonation, which is prickly but avoids the spritzy, seltzer water thing. Finishes very dry.

O- This is a very delicious beer and is drinking really, really well right now.

75cl bottle shared at Akkurat with a great crew
Poured in a gueuze glass
Enjoyed on 9 May 2012

A: Light sunshine yellow. A few soft, white bubbles for a head on medium pour.

S: Funk, must, and lemon. Fairly boring, but then again I've smelled worse. Needs to age a bit longer, I think.

T: While the smell is boring the taste is actually quite nice. Classic 3F...sour, tart, and dry. Loads of funk, aged cheese, and sharp acidity. Lots of lemon/citrus notes with touch of oak near finish. Goes down easy. Very well-balanced!

M: Light bodied with almost zero carbonation. Prickly, yet smooth.

O: Fairly robust for a geuze - very easy to drink and quite enjoyable!
