Draft at taproom, '15 vintage. Murky copper pour, tight beige head, solid lacing. Aroma is straightforward malts, bready and mildly sweet. Taste brings the booze and warmth, brown bread, hint of citrus zest. Arrives warm and lingers. Right on target

Appearance: Pours a hazy amber color with a thin cap that quickly fades to a film; leggy, with dots dribbling
Smell: Toffee malt with an earthy hop edge; smells English
Taste: Starts out with a rich toffee malt flavor but a metallic bitterness emerges that is neither American nor English but almost medicinal
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with low to moderate carbonation
Overall: Hard to tell whether it is age or something else but the finish here is a demerit

Look - Deep, rich amber in color with a pale orange head. Sticky lacing abounds.
Smell - Hint of booze. Malts ... lots of bready malts. Hints of peach or plums.
Taste - Very boozy. Would probably mellow with some time.So much that it overwhelms everything else about the beer. I get some hop bitterness, but this is mostly booze.
Feel - Astringent. Cleanses the palate without leaving anything behind.
Overall - A decent barley wine. Very happy to have tried this one.

Had on tap at the Pig & Fiddle L: Pours hazy amber to tea colored brown under a thin, tan foam collar. Has some definite legs.
S: Big malt, alcohol, and spice aromas remind me of bourbon.
T: Big alcohol, rich malt, traces of cola, anise, cardamom, dried fruit, trace of vanilla.
F: Chewy body, medium low carbonation, warming.
O: An enormous beer that reminds me of a rich, gooey, bourbon concoction prepared by a wizard.
