Draft at taproom. Pour: normal. Aroma is sweet, chocolate, coffee, roasty. Taste brings the lacto sweetness and feel, hints of coffee, hint of whiskey barrel. This becomes evident as it goes down, warming. Right on the edge of being boozy.

Had on tap. Great name for capturing the vision. The beer? Mixed results. Jet black body with khaki ring of foam. Smell has subdued barrel and whiskey, strong and wet coffee, some maple and milk chocolate. Taste leaves me wanting more barrel and malts, where the sweet elements are there in plenty. Body is a touch watery in spots from the sweetness, but overall rich and velvety. Have by the fire with family in winter

On tap, 5 oz pour. Night black, fingernail of head.

Aroma is faint wet whiskey barrel, some caramel, slight wet earth.

Flavor is peppery coffee with a nice sweet mild caramel presence and a mild wet whiskey barrel character.

Feel is average for a BBA stout.

Overall a decent barrel aged choice.

On tap at the brewery. Light tan head. Black color. Barrels from 5 yr Wyoming Whiskey bourbon.

Barrel flavors aren’t the greatest. The coffee is nice, however. Reminds me of a cold press. Chocolate and Hershey’s syrup. Maple syrup is hard to find, unlike in the base beer. Smooth, rich, roasted. Solid, but I may like the base beer more. Too bad the maple didn’t shine through.
