Appearance: Pours a dark, nearly black color with a strong tan head. SRM of 22-23. (4.00)
Aroma: Moderate aromas of dark grains, dark chocolate, some espresso roast underneath. Clean. (3.75)
Flavor: Moderate flavors of dark chocolate, bittersweet, some espresso roast. Mildly bittersweet chocolate finish. (4.00)
Feel: Medium-bodied, relatively strong carbonation and balanced. Lightly sweet. (3.50)
Compared to Bent Paddle Black 2/2023: Pours similar, identical aromas. More bittersweet chocolate. Less dry, dark grains. Less carbonation and sweeter.

Poured stout dark and was capped with a light brown head that left reasonable lacing.
The aroma was lost on my nose, Covid or chemical I’m not sure.
The taste was very stout like, good roasted malts, coffee and cocoa with just a hint of hops. Solid, not amazing, but a solid stout.
The feel is thinner than expected, even for a lower ABV beer. A person has expectations for a stout.
OA, if this was on tap locally I would likely have it regularly, but it’s not so it was really nice to try.

16oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of bubbly foam. It left sudsy rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of dark roasted coffee, chocolate and toffee. Nice roasted coffee taste with chocolate, vanilla and caramel.

A nice stout. Very uncomplicated but it has all the right flavors

Pours a deep blackish brown....roasted malts on the aroma and a bigger impression of roasted malts with notes of coffee on the flavor. Taste also brings some dark chocolate and a light touch of caramel.
Biggest issue is the body....it's nice and creamy textured but very low carbonation gives it a somewhat thinnish feel.
Overall I'd buy this again. Not sure if this has been released in cans or brewed before but this is a much-welcomed addition to the Minnesota beer scene for me.

Drinking this on the night of an actual snow emergency in Minneapolis. Looking forward to something to get cozy by the fire, but this isn’t it.
Seems a little thin. Almost watered down. If you are in the mood for a stout, but want it to be quite a bit lighter in taste and feel than other stouts, this may be your beer.

Don't really expect stouts like this nowadays as it doesn't contain marshmallow, peanut butter, or some other adjunct. What you do get is a medium roasted malt somewhat dry stout. Feels a bit thin though even for a 6% beer.
