impressive brew here, fulton kills it with the dark stuff, and its amazing to pack this much flavor and character into a stout that is not only not aged in a barrel, but also south of 8% abv, downright awesome! this was a fun one to share, a beer with a nice malt construction and sneaky complexity despite its smooth and effortless drinkability. one of the genius thins here is the subtle nature of all three adjuncts, most importantly the vanilla, so many of these go diabetic and forced, but here its just a support flavor, fully complimentary and natural, ideally proportioned for this to still be stout first. the maple adds sweetness all through it, but there is a chocolate malt richness too in the grain, and a molasses note there as well, it all plays so well together, especially with the nibs bringing some bitterness, and a coffee intensity to the low end dark roasted barley in this, not too much, but enough that it remains balanced even though the maple is obvious. raisin, leather, even an abbey type malt richness, and just some faint oxidation which i dont mind in the style sometimes, this has been in my cellar a little while. overall really nice stout, perfectly proportioned, not too sweet to be drinkable, and with a modest alcohol content that makes it way less of a commitment. i miss going up to minnesota all the time, used to love being more in tune with fulton. this is highly recommended this time of year!

Almost black, smells like dark chocolate, sorta thick, drinks pretty gud. Lots of chocolate with a hint of maple and vanilla, not overly sweet, but sweet enough. Forgettably solid

Poured from 750 mL bottle into snifter.
A: Pours a dark brown hue with an inviting 1 inch frothy dark mocha head with decent retention.
S: Smooth dark chocolate, vanilla, cocoa, and roasted malt.
T: Follows aroma fairly closely with smooth dark chocolate, dark roasted coffee, vanilla, cocoa, and hint of maple syrup.
M: Light-medium body. Darkly sweet with mild roasty bitterness. Fairly smooth feel.
D: A nice example of style and well crafted. Right on the border of imperial stout territory and right on the border of dessert stout territory which makes this a very approachable brew.

On tap at Fulton Brewery. Dark foamy head. Tastes of chocolate, vanilla, and maple. Intense flavors. Mild aftertaste I wish the ABV was a bit lower but its still a really good offering.

From a 16oz can:
Appearance: Black, huge brown head.
Smell: Dark chocolate, coffee note.
Taste: Chocolate, mocha-like sweet coffee, a little bit of the maple sweetness shows up in the background. Kind of an odd mix, doesn't seem to blend well together. Some chalkiness noted.
Overall: Wanted another dark beer at the store and noticed this new one from Fulton. Seems to be a pastry stout but on the lighter side. Unfortunately it doesn't quite hit the mark, the flavors seem a bit muddled and muted.
