16oz draft
Pours a finger of dense off-white head into a Nonic. Retention is average, and the head fades within a minute or so. Initial lacing looks solid. Body is reddish burgundy, with hues of orange. Looks pretty nice so far.
Nose is super bready, with toffee, and a moderate sweetness. This smells awesome.
Flavor brings a good amount of fruity esters, which are now hard to ignore on the aroma as well. A small but sharp bitterness, and some faint malts. Not nearly as complex or malty as the aroma, but it still works.
Carbonation is medium-high. Body is medium-light. Bitterness is medium-low, but definitely noticeable. A little tasteful sweetness makes this passable for the fall weather - it's quite balanced. Mouthfeel is nice, but the higher carbonation is a little odd, and a smaller one would support the smoother nature of this beer better.
Drinkability is great, this is tasty and balanced.
Appearance turned out ok, the lacing was pretty weak but not void.
Malty flavors come out better over time, you get that bread and toffee. All in all this is a super tasty, pretty full, and balanced beer that is perfect for fall.
