The first Oktoberfest was brewed in 1810 for the wedding of Prince Ludwig of Bavaria. Traditionally, Oktoberfest is brewed in March and lagered in caves during the Summer. To this day, Oktoberfest is celebrated in September at the same location in Munich. Our version steps out of bounds with a more complex malt profile and higher ABV, while still maintaining the traditional dry, noble hop finish. Prost!

L: copper with a small white head
S: banana cream
T: faint hops spice and cream
F: good carbonation

Pretty tame, mild beer that's versatile. Could use more nuance.

Outstanding malt flavor and very enjoyable. Great Marzen smell sets up your taste buds. Nicely carbonated and refreshing mouth feel.

Perhaps I'm getting soft in my old age but I'm having a hard time finding a disappointing märzen this year. While I do prefer a more pronounced malt character and a slightly sweeter finish, this is perfectly quaffable and enjoyable.

L - Light amber with a two-finger white carbonated head. Minimal lacing.
S - Light bready malt.
T - follows the nose but with a light apple note.
F - pretty smooth. Lightly bitter. Light-to-medium mouthfeel.
O - felt/tasted a little light but the smoothness makes it easily drinkable.

From a 16 oz. can dated 08/18/21. Sampled Aug 28, 2021.

The appearance is medium amber underneath a big, then diminishing, cream colored head. Decent clarity.

Check out those lovely caramel and toffee malts, Graham cracker sensations, and floral hops on the nose. Inviting.

The mouthfeel is around medium but smooth.

The taste is sweet and alive with caramel malts, toffee, and Graham crackers as mentioned above. clean, balanced finish. True to the style.

Does not taste like a marzen, but very chuggable. Love the noble hops. Tasted even better the 2nd time down (I puked a little in my mouth and swallowed it all back down!)

Canned on 8/11/20

Pours a translucent, sunburst orange body with light copper hues and sporting a finger and a half of dense, soapy, off-white foam; sub-par head retention yields spotty, paper-thin islands of cap, an inconsistent, creamy collar, and a haphazard spread of thin, webby lacing spread around the glass.

Aroma opens with fresh white bread fading to slight lager yeast, and soft brown bread, with a grainy quality and minerality toward middle; the sense of roast deepens across the bouquet, with highlights of toasted brown bread as the culmination of a bright malt profile with delicately floral touches.

Taste begins with lager yeast, biscuit, and a pillowy malt profile upfront as a defined caramel sweetness builds through the mid-palate; brief punch of grassy character phases seamlessly into malty char, burnt toast, and black bread crusts on the finish as vaguely metallic hints linger.

Mouthfeel offers a medium-light body and an upper echelon carbonation imparting a puffy, spritzy texture into the mid-palate, which glosses cleanly to a mild yet firm malty grit on the back end; the rounded, dry finish is crisp and impactful.

A modest, steady overall balance to this Märzen just slightly edges out the prevalence of a barely unsynchronized malt profile, leaving a pleasant, quaffable final impression despite some casual imperfections.

A: crystal clear; deep gold in color; 1+ finger off white head that receded to a wispy cap with a fat collar; no lacing;

S: bread and grass;

T: bread, sweet malt, and a little nutty; mild bitterness at the end; there is an off putting metallic character at the finish that lasts through the aftertaste;

M: light to medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;

O: can't get past the metallic finish;
