On tap at Jack's San Ramon location. Served in a pint glass. 12/09/10.
Pours a slightly hazy copper colored body and forms a medium sized, slightly off white cap. The head doesn't waste much time settling but leaves some decent lacing on it's way down.
Aroma is mellow but pleasant. Lightly toasty and floral with a very subtle caramel character.
Flavor profile follows the same path but steps everything up a notch or two. Clean floral bitter hops remain a key part of the show here but are equally matches by caramel, butterscotch, and toast which become more and more clearly defined as the beer warms. Grassy bitterness in the finish is a little strong for the style but still pretty restrained.
Overall a very worthy entry in the style.
