On-tap at Three Cellars, Franklin, WI:
Pours very dark brown to black. A wispy island as a head, it leaves minimal lacing.
The smell is of chocolate, earthy root, cherry and a hint of bourbon.
The sweet, slightly tart, medicinal cherry with chocolate/cocoa. Some bourbon sweetness comes through - in a wet wood way. It almost clashes too much. Somewhat abrupt finish.
It is a bit solvent/slick.
This comes to close to clashing and goes in too many directions. It's a unique idea that almost works, but doesn't. The cherry leans towards cough medicine, though there is a bit of tart. The chocolate is more like cocoa powder and the bourbon is more like sweet wood. It just doesn't pull together well, but, it is drinkable for one.
