This is a currently available one-off brewing of a Belgian-styled wheat ale with peach essence. I managed to get the brewer to admit to using Abbey Ale yeast and Tettnanger and Magnum in it, but that is most likely not the entirety of the ingredient list.

Looks like a red-tinged amber brew with one finger of white head which is relatively stable. Smells like a candied peach jam out of a Smucker's Jar spread on top of a nice piece of wheat toast, tastes even sweeter than that. The gentle peppery, citrus peel, and grass hop noted accents in the nose and in the taste provide a psuedo-marmalade spicing to my peach jam. Unfortunately, sometimes it does indeed get annoyingly cloying with the sweetness and becomes like a peach jolly rancher rather than delicious jam or preserves. I had to pause several times for sips of water to clean my palate... If it were up to me, I would have hopped about 20% more aggressively to repair the way this brew can pendulum-swing back and forth over the borderline between an enjoyably sweet fruit beer and a cloying piece of candy. The mouthfeel is quite lovely, actually, light bodied, snappy carbonation, sparkling crisp which helps a lot to deal with the sweetness.

For a one-off brewing of a fruit beer it is really not all that bad for all my complaining about excessive sweetness, it just needs a little tweaking should the brewer ever decide to revisit. As it stands, it is an excellent "gateway" leading farther into the world of craft beerdom for your lady friend who drinks wine coolers or other non-beer alcopop.
