Strong and smooth, the dense, firm and fine-grained foam of the Collesi Triplo Malto Craft Beer is the result of the natural bottle conditioning process. Unpasteurized and obtained from an accurate selection of malts, it’s a light beer of fragrant aromas with notes of just-picked yellow fruits, fresh yeast and malt, vanilla, honey and bread crust. Balanced and intense on the palate, Collesi Triplo Malto Craft Beer is doughy and malty at the start, but ends with soft, fruity and prolonged hints of peach and apricot.

I've seen this on the shelf at Binny's Lincoln Park for a long time. And it shows. Sorry to say that this bottle went off.
Oh, well.
As for my rating, I use some imagination for S&T&F as to what Imper Ale was like in better days. As for Looks, I have never seen such a sickly ale. If anyone can tell me the value of reviewing an Italian Belgian tripel after it is gone (and the importer probably has lost patience with Italian ales charging way beyond their value in the marketplace), then I suppose I should review this. But, no one wins that argument. No review can possibly be needed. I will say this: once the yeast can no longer make the malt feel good about itself, all that is left is 9% in your face.
I'm not blaming anyone for this bottle long past its prime. I was too lazy to read the label, or tempted by a brewer I'd not Had. After all, I've seen this label for a while. The importer's office is next to O'Hare and Binny's is a local chain. There had been no BA reviews in two years. So, I should have suspected that this Tripel was gone. My bad.

Pours from the bottle a cloudy, dirty gold. Modest head that leaves only spots on the glass.
Strong heavy pale malt start. Plenty of alcohol.
Slightly sweet with a very rich mouthfeel. A very nice trippel. The alcohol is ever present. Very smooth. Sweet finish, short aftertaste.

Had this at the Federal Taphouse in Lancaster after my very knowledgeable waitress said this was her favorite Belgian on their list. Great beer that certainly should be tried. Lighter feel and taste than the typical Belgian which made it shockingly drinkable at 9%. And excellent "Italian" that I really hope to have again.

Appearance: Pours with multiple fingers of head which settles nicely. Above average active carbonation in glass. Light yellow golden color.
Smell: Lots of clove and leafy greens. Buttery yeast body with tones of bananas. Straw and prairie grass are found as well. Slight exotic spices too.
Taste: Earthy yeast and potent leafy greens with cloves. A doughy buttery body has a medium to heavy body. Herbs and spices ride throughout. Yeast finish lingers on the palate.
Mouthfeel: Light, very easy drinking and refreshing.
Overall: A well done tripel. Easy drinking with a good amount of character. Good beer can be found all around the world.
