12 oz single $1.99 bottle, these guys don't date jack shit ever ever, so that's why it's a single, into a Crooked Stave Willie.
Starting out great with a beautiful glowing haze and honestly it's almost like juice. The head is gorgeous and tall, tons of head, and one of the most beautiful destructions by lace I've ever seen.
Aroma from the bottle is baked bread and spiced citrus pie; the aroma from the glass is a melange of peppery grapefruit, lychee, orange, lemon, guava, basil, bread, and leaky produce rack.
Flavor, well the hop spoilage is out front on this one, thanks Total Wine; but once you get past that it's actually appreciable juice with hints of mint, orange juice, grapefruit, lychee, and lemon. There is a polite herbal stab underneath. This is a very soft beer.
Feel is likewise soft, with a creamy profile and a mild carbonation underneath that seems to fit just right. Mild alcohol heat.
Overall, I'm sure I like this beer more than most - but be aware - the low scores on Bayou Teche's IPAs are 90% due to the fact that nobody can tell how old the beer is, so the flavors are pretty off-point even to a casual beer drinker. This is a solid, soft, New England juicer, and I see on BT's insta that they just dropped a fresh batch of this on their brewery floor. I'll be headed up there today or tomorrow to grab a couple six packs because I believe in this beer being great fresh. Glad I could try this spoiled one because underneath the spoilage was a great beverage. DATE YOUR F'N BOTTLES!!

Sixer of 12 fl oz brown glass bottles with green pry-off crown caps: $9.59 USD plus tax at a beer store in New Orleans, LA. No best before/bottled on date or Julian code appears on the bottle, telling me the brewery doesn't really care if the consumer gets it fresh or not.
6.3% ABV. 60 IBUs. "Ale." "IPA."
Malt: Pilsner, Rice
Hops: Mosaic, Citra, Chinook
Fails to showcase any of its hop varietals well to any extent. Mosaic & Citra are so often naturally synergistic and harmonious; this beer manages to waste both hops. I do taste the rice adjunct, which isn't a good thing. It's muddled, murky, and seemingly unfiltered (though I observe no benefit to its lack of filtration).
Well-carbonated, which is probably the only positive thing I can say about it.
Probably the worst IPA I've tried this year. Just underwhelming across the board, with poor depth of flavour and zero complexity. In terms of Louisiana beers, it's amongst the worst I've had. I'd sooner drink Abita or Dixie..

The ipa has a horrible smell to it very heavy scent. The taste is bitter and the aftertaste is even worse. I've only had 1 and dumped half of that down the drain. It's a bottle and not tap. I'd be willing to try a draught but it would have to be perfect conditions for it to be much better. I've drank beer for 48 years. I'm a Guinness man and love most European beers like Pilsner Urquel, Perroni, love Dos Equis and Modelo as well. but this
... pure crap.

Drinkable. Was too carbonated, too citrusy, not enough hops.

Tapped at Johnny White's just off The Street, aka Bourbon st. Poured into a plastic cup as is the case in a majority of the french quarter establishments.
I liked this one, NOLA has begun to produce good quality independent beers in this town.
Get some beads around you neck and grab a pint of swamp thing. Cheers

From the bottle, it pours a hazy golden amber with a nice head that slowly diminishes to a thin layer and leaves lacing. Lots of citrus in the nose. In the mouth, pineapple comes through, with a bit of malt.
