(from notes taken at the brewery nearly a week ago)

Mildly cloudy; good, white head. Almost barnyard or saison nose; mild malt presence. Zesty flavor; bitter; phenols; peppery. Medium body; mild' velvety smoothness.

An interesting, different triple India pale ale as far as taste. Good stuff.

ABV: 12%; pouring temperature: n/a

12 oz bottle from Lafayette, LA, priced @ $2.49, into wide mouthed glass.

Old school haze - no turbidity here - bronze in color, with a creamy white froth of 1 finger.

Aroma is your typical fruity triple IPA. Apricot and honey are louder than the rest of the notes. Behind it are strawberry, tangerine, and muscat.

Flavor is a mixture of papery hop spoilage and huge boozy fruit cocktail. I get candy chocolate notes as well - Sixlets in particular. Caramel roll, strawberry fluff, parchment paper. Funky and skunky.

Feel is right on the money for a triple. Just how I like them. Big, boozy, sticky, cutting, and hot. Some slight resins as well.

Overall, this one's seen its better days, but I have a feeling the weirdness is not totally attributable to its age. For this reason I likely won't revisit it unless it's on a flight at the brewery sometime. About as bizarre as its cover art.

Nabbed a bottle on-sale with a smudged date code for $1.99 USD.

A 12% ABV Extra Brut IPA? Look out...

Taste is floral and a bit citrusy with obvious alcohol warmth. Pale malt throughout, probably some crystal too if I had to guess. Tastes candied, which isn't necessarily pleasant.

Hop profile is uninteresting. The point here seems to be hiding the ABV via enzymatic activity, which is fine, but it doesn't make for much of an enjoyable beer.

Unrefreshing, heavy, boozy, smooth, and pretty straight up the middle in terms of dryness vs wetness.

I find it to be of subpar drinkability. Lacks the dryness most Brut IPAs seem to be going for and the hop profile just isn't good.

Pours a very clear golden color with a thick foamy head. Head retention is very good as is lacing. Somewhat tropical aroma with candied fruit. Very malty, sweet candied fruit, really no bitterness. Hides the 12% very well. Silky smooth. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Techeticles is a winner in beer circles no matter where you live. It has a very nice aroma and a silky smooth texture over the lips. I was sold on it before even knowing the ABV was 12%. Unfortunately, it is very limited and hard to find, and I live only 75 miles from the brewery.

Hazy dark yellow. Head dissipates pretty fast. Excellent candied fruit aroma. Citrus hops, dry finish. Could use a little more maltiness in there, but still balanced enough. Highly drinkable, the 12% abv is very well hidden. Scary in a good way.
