12 oz single bottle, $2.49, no date, into pint glass.
Hazy juicy blonde with a tall creamy cap of 3 fingers leaving lots of lace.
Aroma is malt forward, with hints of tangerine and slight mango. Some fresh plant matter as well. I love the smell of their house yeast as well. Very fresh and green.
Flavor is orange peel, tangerine, herb, slight lemon, some hop log, and slight diet orange juice.
Juicy feel, good carbonation, no alcohol heat.
Overall, a pretty good, though not great NE IPA. I think Bayou Teche gets a bad rep for no good reason at all, except for the fact that they don't date their product. IF THEY DATED THEIR PRODUCT (are you listening BT?) people would get fresher product and not be inclined to rate it so low.
Bayou Teche is a good brewery. Better than anything I have locally. But they need to start dating their product if they want to have better ratings.
Price paid : $2.49 /bottle
Would buy again : yes

Appearance: The head settles in at one finger, capping the clear goldenstraw liquid; good retention and a strand or two of lace
Smell; A bit floral with a lychee aspect; just a hint of dankness
Taste: Tropical tones with papaya, lychee and a hint of berry, up front; the middle adds moderate bitterness with a slightly dank aspect; the finish has a floral character
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: For a DIPA it lacks oomph but it is an easy drinker

Brief initial impression from a bottle (12 fl oz crown cap):
Ran me $9.49 USD for a 4 pack plus tax at a beer store in Louisiana.
No bottled on/best before date. No mention of hops used, style, or ABV appears on the label. This beer does not yet appear on the brewery's website, so no luck there.
Hop profile is mundane. Floral, slightly citrusy, slightly oily, ultimately a bit insipid for an imperial IPA. I guess I get some faint lychee.
Pale malts. Probably crystal malt.
Imbalanced and a bit warm alcohol-wise. Overcarbonated. Unrefreshing. Smooth, wet, medium-bodied.
Overall, it's a shrug of a beer that doesn't hold a candle even to widely distributed expressions of the style that cost a lot less than it does. I'd advise against buying it...definitely a ripoff of a mediocre brew that shouldn't be in anyone's fridge.
