Darkly translucent brew, partly from the color (pulpy, dark orange). It also appears to be unfiltered, although it doesn't approach the more radical thick appearance popularized by certain NE brewers. Head formation is adequate and retention is acceptable.
Extremely juicy aroma: peach, mango, mandarin orange, a little bit each of pineapple and dankness, slightly grassy herbs. There's a green tinge throughout, but it's mostly juice on the nose.
Flavor follows: it's incredibly juicy, and quite sweet, owing no doubt equally to the massive hop and malt loads. There's a quick dank punch around the middle, and then everything seems to fall away relatively quickly. A lingering dank sweetness leaves the palate with the only reminder of the beer's presence moments before.
Big, syrupy, but extremely drinkable for an ABV that is sky-high for the style.

Poured orange-ish into tulip glass from 16 oz can. Medium carbonation with nice lacing. Looks like West Coast IPA should look.
At first, I thought the smell was suprinsingly subdued, but it improved as the beer warmed in the glass. Still, wasn't blown away by the aroma.
I was preparing for heavy alcoholic flavor but was surprised that although it was hot, it wasn't like a vodka shot as I expected from such a high ABV. Had the characteristics of a heavily hopped IPA with mostly tropical flavors coming through. Boozy for sure, but not in a terrible way.
Mouthfeel is dry, not too much malt background.
Overall, it's good. Triple IPA's can be brutal, but this is pretty drinkable while at the same time making a big statement. Get it if you can.

beautiful aroma of fresh Nelson hops... taste has a bite, can taste the alcohol although it is almost substantially covered up(?)..... a little glycerin burn but still almost very well-balanced.... not usually a fan of the higher-abv-ed IPAs but this one is a little easier to swallow (or maybe i knew what to expect up front?).
